So the other night I decided to try get into this whole twitter thing. Yes, I know it's been around forever now but I never really "got it" and just stuck with Facebook. So I go on twitter and discover the trending topics and see a familiar name at the top of the list: Rob Bell. Now I do like Rob Bell and his nooma series etc so I decided to check it out and found what I wish I didn't.. Hate. Lots and lots of hating going on from so-called christians about Rob Bell and his new unreleased book about heaven and hell called: "love wins: A Book About Heaven, Hell, and the Fate of Every Person Who Ever Lived". The marketing makes it...

The next fifty years in this country (the UK), and the U.S. — the West in general especially really — is going to be very interesting for society; for the Church. Mainly for the Church. Society is going through a major shift, almost on a global scale. A great divide is coming and will hit the Church over issues of sexuality and marriage. More so than it might already seem....

UPDATE (March 2013) - I finally did the rest of the review on this book... even if it is two years later! Better late than never, right? Go and read it now!love wins by Rob BellI ordered this a while ago and had been waiting in anticipation for it to arrive. "love wins: A book about heaven, hell, and the fate of every person who ever lived" by Rob Bell has been causing quite a stir on the interwebs various corners. I'm sure it's not new news to anyone who listens and watches these things that a few major church leaders quite openly condemned this book and its author because of its subject - before it had even been released and...

...another, love wins. Whatever your thoughts or opinions on Rob Bell, whatever your beliefs about heaven, hell and everything in between, I highly recommend this book. Go in without an agenda – read it with an open mind and a willingness to learn and let the Spirit guide you. You may not come out agreeing with everything written, but if you at least question and think about your views on hell and who goes there and, more importantly, why you think that – then I believe this book has served purpose. Five stars – Well-written, easy to read and a thought-provoking book that everyone who takes Jesus' Gospel seriously should...

Exodus 7: Heart Matters

...Exodus 7: Heart Matters: In Exodus, the Israelites had forgotten that He was God as they were now slaves and had been worn down by the pressures of life. But God had promised them an inheritance. This is for the church today also. He knows all that is going on and He has promised. ‘I will pour out my Spirit on all people: I will show wonders in the heavens and on earth: and every one who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.’ Life is eternal. People need Jesus and He has chosen us to be the people to demonstrate His love to others. Jesus came to earth and loved us enough to be ridiculed for us, to take the sins of us all, to be punished so we can go...

How to Start a Blog (part 1)

Posted by Lewk on 15th April 2014 in Blogging |
...Ask yourself what you love, care about or wish to share with others. If you're going to write about something regularly and keep your blog fresh with new information, then you need to write about something that stokes your passion or that reflects your daily experience. Try some of these ideas to get your creative juices flowing: Politics. Sure, everyone has an opinion about politics, but you may have a unique point of view that needs to be heard. Food. Who doesn't love good food? Share your recipes, start writing reviews of the local cuisine scene or write about how the food that you ate in China was nothing like the food that Chinese restaurants serve i...
